PEOPLE · ACTION · ACCOUNTABILITY
An Independent Manifesto for Ward 48

I don't represent a party. I represent the people, through action and accountability.

Vote Mpho Eaye, independent councillor candidate, Ward 48 Dobsonville. 2026 local government elections, 4 November.

1. People before politics
- Every resident matters.

- Dobsonville Extensions 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, Block 7 and Old Dobsonville are part of Ward 48.

- Ward 48 must come first.

2. Action before promises
- Identify the problem → Organise the community → Engage the responsible authority → Demand action → Monitor progress → Report back.

- Service delivery must never be used as a campaign tool.

3. Accountability to the people
- Regular community accountability meetings covering: problems reported; action taken; responsible authority; timeline; resolution and escalation.

Priority areas
4. Water security: reliable and equitable supply; pressure / infrastructure; communication; tankers; maintenance / upgrades; transparent recurring-failure reporting; practical solution for Dobsonville Extensions and Old Dobsonville.

5. Electricity and energy: outages; communication; infrastructure accountability; tariffs / smart meters / billing; escalation.

6. Roads, traffic and public safety: traffic calming; pedestrians; dangerous roads / intersections; roads / stormwater; lighting; evidence-based CCTV / public safety.

7. Clean, healthy communities: refuse; illegal dumping; public spaces; parks; participation; municipal accountability.

8. Youth, skills and opportunity: skills; entrepreneurship; digital opportunities; employment info; training; sport; mentorship; organisations / businesses. Create pathways from hard work to opportunity.

9. Senior citizens and vulnerable residents: government services; dignity; food / social support; community assistance; vulnerable households; partnerships.

10. Community participation: meetings; street / block participation; issue reporting; partnerships with schools, churches, NGOs, businesses, civic organisations; engagement with departments.

My accountability commitment
- The problem: what is the issue?

- The action: what will be done?

- The responsible authority: who is responsible?

- The timeline: by when?

- The outcome: what will be achieved?

- The next step: what happens after that?

How I will lead
My core commitments: stand up for the community; ask difficult questions; organise and mobilise; follow up until there is action; report back to the community.

Also: do not promise what cannot be delivered; do not take credit for others' work; acknowledge progress; say when something fails.

The independent difference
- People over parties.

- Action over promises.

- Service over political positions.

- Accountability over excuses.

- Community over personal ambition.

Our commitment
People. Action. Accountability. People before politics. Action before promises. Accountability after the election. It is about putting the community first.
